About Ebooks Gratis

Ebooks Gratis (a.k.a. Kindle Gratis) is a daily-refreshed catalog of legitimately free Kindle ebooks across 12 Amazon marketplaces. Every price is verified hourly against Amazon's official store; nothing is hosted, nothing is pirated. This page exists to answer the three questions readers ask most: are these books really free, is it legal, and who runs this.

How does the daily selection actually work?

Every hour, our scraper queries the official Amazon Kindle Store across 12 marketplaces (US, UK, DE, IT, ES, FR, BR, IN, JP, CA, AU, MX) via Amazon's public bestseller endpoints. We filter for ebooks legitimately priced at 0.00 and meeting our quality threshold (average rating ≥ 3.5 stars, where ratings are available).

The selection appears on this site within minutes of a price change. We never host or distribute any book file — every link points directly to the official Amazon product page, where you complete the "free purchase" the same way you'd complete a paid one. If a book stops being free, it drops off the next refresh cycle.

For our editorial landing pages (curated lists like "Best Italian Crime Authors"), we add a manual verification pass and timestamp each page with the most recent confirmation date.

Are these books really free? Is it legal?

Yes, and yes. Every book we list is offered at 0.00 directly by Amazon Kindle Store at the moment we last checked. Amazon prices can change without notice, so always verify the price on the Amazon page before you confirm.

Why are publishers giving books away? Because it's a standard publishing marketing tactic. An author or publisher offers Book 1 of a series for free, hoping readers will buy Books 2-5. It's the same logic as a sample chapter — just scaled up. Amazon's own KDP documentation describes free promotional pricing as a core tool of the platform.

We never link to pirated content. If you ever see a title on our list that looks suspicious — wrong cover, unfamiliar publisher, broken Amazon link — please tell us and we'll investigate.

Who runs this site?

Ebooks Gratis is operated by CWTI Ltd, a UK private limited company. It is built and maintained by Ivan Morgillo, a software engineer with 10+ years of experience shipping mobile apps and writing about software development. Ivan is the author of RxJava Essentials, a regular conference speaker, and an indie hacker who runs a handful of independent products.

We are not affiliated with Amazon. We don't earn affiliate commissions on the books listed (links are direct to Amazon product pages, without affiliate parameters). Our revenue comes from the optional premium tier of the Android app and from app advertising.

Trust signals

Is there a mobile app?

Yes. The Android app sends push notifications for the categories you choose, so you don't have to check the site every day. The core experience is free; there's an optional premium tier ($35/mo) for power users. iOS is on the roadmap.

How can I get in touch?

Email: hello@ivanmorgillo.com — for support, partnerships, or press inquiries. We read every email and reply within 2-3 business days.

For business inquiries about CWTI Ltd or sponsorship of the Android app, the same address works.
